Miguel Ferreira a.k.a Debug was born in Lisbon, Portugal, but very early in his life he went to live in Mozambique. It was during this period when he was living in Africa that he discovered electronic music for the first time. Basically everything started in 1992 when Debug turned on the T.V and got amazed by a live concert by the legendary Jean Michelle Jarre when he was invited to do a live concert for the inaugural celebrations of the Palace of the Lost City, a hotel located within the Sun City resort in South Africa. Debug was only 9 years old. Since that day electronic music started playing a great role in Debug's life. With early influences from Jean Michelle Jarre, to the Synthpop and Electropop of Depeche Mode, Gary Numan , Bronski Beat, Duran Duran, Debug quickly started gaining influences also from Chicago House, Detroit Techno and Progressive House and Trance that intrigued him by their fascinating and hypnotic rhythms. In the 90's with the growth of the Progressive house movement, rapidly Djs like Dj Vibe (and Underground Sound of Lisbon), John Digweed, Sasha, Deep Dish, Omid 16b or Danny Howells turned into his main influences.
As a reflexion of all these different influences Debug's DJ sets are usually a fusion of of different styles from Ambient, to downtempo, IDM, deep house, tech-house, Progressive, to Techno.
